Life has not been always easy, particularly for those unskilled or uneducated. Good jobs seem to be unfriendly to them. Having to leave home early morning and get home late at night, they just earn very little amount of money. Don't ask about how much they can save for education or health. Nothing is left for non-meals.
The irony goes on that because of the limited job opportunities (and entrepreneurship chance as well), some skilled and educated people have to compete for very little portion of 'cake'. Consequently, they are willing to work at any cost: health risk for example, and at any pay: they have to take any rate of pay just to survive.
Well, Jogja is not always sweet for everybody. Some live easily, and some others live hard. Just like other towns? Yes!
But that's not the point. Poverty is something that we have to defeat. How do you feel to see those who just eat once every another day? Too dramatic? No.. it's real. A lot of people, particularly the orphans and the elderly, find it difficult just to survive the day. How are you feeling to know that they have no access to the simple health care? The neglected disabled (either physically or mentally)?
Charity is needed.... not to feed them, but to empower them.....
